In November 2023, we embarked on a two-week journey through Turkey, exploring the country's rich culture, fascinating history, and breathtaking landscapes. Our trip began in Istanbul, where we spent five days discovering the city's many wonders.
As we walked through Istanbul's narrow streets and bustling bazaars, we were struck by the city's vibrant energy and incredible beauty. We visited historic mosques and squares, including the awe-inspiring Blue Mosque and the magnificent Hagia Sophia. We also took a boat tour along the Bosphorus, taking in the stunning views of the city's skyline from the water.
After our time in Istanbul, we flew south to Antalya and Icmeler, two beautiful coastal cities known for their picturesque beaches and charming old towns. In Antalya, we explored the city's many historic sites, including the ancient city of Perge and the stunning Antalya Museum. We also spent time relaxing on the beaches, soaking up the warm sunshine and swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
In Icmeler, we continued our beach adventures, taking long walks along the shoreline and enjoying delicious local seafood. We also visited nearby historic sites, such as the ancient city of Knidos, which offered stunning views of the sea and surrounding countryside.
Throughout our journey, we were struck by the incredible warmth and hospitality of the Turkish people. From the vendors in the bazaars to the locals we met in cafes and restaurants, everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and eager to share their culture and traditions with us.
As our trip came to an end, we felt grateful for the unforgettable experiences and memories we had made in Turkey. From the bustling streets of Istanbul to the tranquil beaches of Antalya and Icmeler, we had seen and experienced so much of this incredible country. We can't wait to return and discover even more of Turkey's hidden gems.
