Some weddings are beautiful because of the venue. Others because of the people. Meagan and Ninaad’s wedding at The Liberty Warehouse was unforgettable because it seamlessly brought together two families, two cultures, and two traditions into one incredible celebration on the Brooklyn waterfront.
Overlooking New York Harbor with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty, Liberty Warehouse was the perfect setting for a wedding that honored both heritage and modern New York. Throughout the day, every detail reflected the couple’s desire to celebrate not only their love but also the traditions that shaped them.
The morning began with an elegant Western-inspired look. Meagan looked stunning in her classic white wedding gown while Ninaad wore a timeless tuxedo. Before guests arrived, they shared an emotional first look overlooking the waterfront before exploring the grounds for portraits together. The industrial brick architecture, cobblestone walkways, and waterfront views created a beautiful contrast with their elegant attire, giving every photograph a timeless editorial feel. We also captured individual portraits, family photographs, and quiet moments together before the next chapter of the day unfolded.
Later, the atmosphere transformed as both Meagan and Ninaad changed into traditional Indian wedding attire. Rich fabrics, intricate embroidery, beautiful jewelry, and vibrant colors completely changed the mood of the day while celebrating Ninaad’s heritage. We documented the final details as family members helped with the finishing touches before Meagan shared another emotional first look with her father, followed by a second first look with Ninaad in their traditional outfits.
Outside, excitement quickly filled the waterfront as guests gathered for the Baraat, one of the most joyful traditions of an Indian wedding. Accompanied by energetic dhol drums, Ninaad arrived dancing alongside family and friends while everyone celebrated together. Laughter, music, and colorful traditions transformed the streets outside Liberty Warehouse into an unforgettable celebration. Guests enjoyed hot chai and refreshing lemonade while both families officially welcomed one another, creating one of the most emotional moments of the day.
The ceremony opened with traditional Hindu prayers alongside a Catholic blessing before readings from both faiths reflected themes of unity, love, and family. Instead of the traditional “giving away” of the bride, both families participated in a meaningful moment of mutual acceptance, emphasizing that this marriage united two families rather than simply two individuals.
Throughout the ceremony, timeless Hindu traditions unfolded one after another. Meagan and Ninaad exchanged floral garlands, tied the sacred Mangalsutra, gathered around the sacred fire for the Homam, completed the Sapthapadi—the seven symbolic steps into marriage—and honored additional family traditions before exchanging Western wedding vows and rings. The ceremony concluded with blessings from their families, who showered them with flowers and rice before the couple was officially pronounced married.
Following family portraits beneath the beautifully decorated Mandap, guests moved into cocktail hour overlooking New York Harbor. Conversations flowed easily while everyone enjoyed the waterfront views, signature cocktails, and the excitement of the evening ahead. As the sun began to lower over Manhattan, we slipped away with Meagan and Ninaad for a few quiet portraits, capturing one last peaceful moment before the celebration continued.
Before entering the reception, the couple changed back into their Western wedding attire, creating another beautiful contrast that defined the entire day. Their grand entrance immediately filled the room with energy before they shared their first dance surrounded by family and friends.
The evening continued with heartfelt speeches from parents, siblings, and loved ones, celebrating the incredible journey that had brought these two families together. Dinner was served family-style, encouraging conversation and connection around every table.
One of the highlights of the reception came when friends and family surprised everyone with choreographed Indian dance performances. The room erupted with applause as colorful performances transitioned into an unforgettable dance floor where guests from both cultures celebrated together late into the night.
Meagan and Ninaad’s wedding was a perfect reflection of modern New York—diverse, elegant, welcoming, and deeply meaningful. It was never simply about combining two ceremonies. It was about honoring two families, celebrating two cultures, and creating one unforgettable wedding day that belonged entirely to them.
We were honored to document every chapter of their celebration and can’t imagine a more beautiful place than Liberty Warehouse to tell this incredible story.
